Unit 3: Civil War |
Civil War Projects |
Students are taking a journey through the Civil War and looking at different aspects of the War and time period. As they explore different areas of interest, students are also looking at modern technologies and how they might have changed any given element therein.
|
Students in th and 7th grade are working on their Civil War Projects using Google Slides. Research and project development are taking place inside of their class time, however they have been encouraged (if they have a computer and internet access at home) to try setting up times to collaborate with their partners and work independently at home. This type of independent practice is used in college and in professional settings.

Unit 2: Poetry
Students have been showcasing some very heartfelt and creative pieces of poetry. Students are looking forward to sharing their completed pieces with their families.
Unit 1: Culinary Math
Students are going to cook for their family. They have chosen their favorite dish and would like to treat family members to a nice home cooked meal. As students may need an "assistant chef," parents or adults at home are asked to help prepare and assist in safety. We would like to have pictures of students cooking and the meal when it is finished and presented to the family. You can send these pictures to [email protected] Pictures can be taken on any device. Just make sure you put "NMS-Student Name" in the subject line. Or, you can send pictures to school for our next class.
I would like students to write about their cooking experience that would include step-by-step instructions, any recipes, special instructions, and how much fun it was. Parents are encouraged to write a review on, what I am sure to be a JOB WELL DONE!!!!! . I look forward to seeing your family meal.
